John J. Delucca
John J. Delucca has significant experience in family wealth management. He directed the family office of one of America's wealthiest families and served as its managing director and chief financial officer.
Mr. Delucca also has an extensive background in financial management with some of the country's leading corporations. He served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of the REL Consultancy Group; executive vice president, Finance and Administration, and chief financial officer of Coty Inc., a $3 billion global consumer products company; and senior vice president and treasurer of RJR Nabisco Inc., where he was responsible for the $7 billion pension fund. Mr. Delucca also has served, among other positions, as president and chief financial officer of the Lexington Group and senior vice president, Finance, and managing director of The Trump Group.
Mr. Delucca currently serves as a director of British Energy PLC, Enzo Biochem Inc., Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc., ITC Deltacom Inc. and Tier Technologies Inc.
Mr. Delucca has been a guest speaker and lecturer for financial institutions and universities including Merrill Lynch, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, Sumitomo Bank Ltd., Banque Paribas, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Standard & Poor's, the New York University Stern School of Business, the Fordham University Graduate School of Business and Pace University. He was also an adjunct assistant professor at Seton Hall University School of Business Administration. Mr. Delucca is a graduate of Bloomfield College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree, and Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he received Master of Business Administration degree in finance.
Caleb Loring, III
Caleb Loring is a descendant of the 19th-century industrialist Frederic Ayer and since 1982 has led the Ayer family office. Mr. Loring oversees family assets of more than $600 million and facilitates intergenerational communication for over 100 family members. Before taking on management responsibility for the Ayer family office, Mr. Loring served as a family trustee and a member of its Investment Committee.
Prior to 1982 he was a vice president of the Bank of Boston's commercial lending division and was with the bank for 10 years. Mr. Loring began his career with the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Loring currently serves as the lead independent trustee and chairman of the Audit Committee of Mellon Institutional Funds as well as a director and president of the Investment and Independent Review Committees of the Carter Family Corporation; a director and chairman of the Audit Committee for Goede Capital Management, LLC, and Mellon Optima, LLC; and a trustee of the Dumaine Family Trust and the Amelia Peabody Charitable Fund.
Long active in community affairs, he currently holds seats on local boards including the Salvation Army, Trustees of Donations (Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts), North Shore YMCA, North Shore Community College and The Trustees of Reservations. His knowledge of planned giving, development, finance and investment management has proven useful wherever he serves.
Mr. Loring is a graduate of Dartmouth College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts and subsequently a Master of Business Administration degree from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration there.
Bonnie B. Hartley, Ph.D.
Bonnie B. Hartley is president of Transition Dynamics Inc., a consulting firm specializing in business family and organizational transitions. Dr. Hartley works primarily on planning, communication and relationship management during times of transition in two areas: governance systems within family councils, family offices, family and non-family management teams, boards of directors and advisory councils; and lifelong learning maps for developing interests and competencies in business families. She also serves as an executive coach for both senior and next-generation members of business families.
Dr. Hartley has written for Families in Business, Family Business Review, Family Business, Nation's Business, Business Horizons, the International Journal of Bank Marketing, The Family Business Client, Private Wealth Management and On Wall Street, among others, and has been interviewed on various PBS documentaries about family businesses. Dr. Hartley works with prominent families around the world and has written numerous books designed to foster the strength and flexibility of families, including Sudden Death and Unexpected Wealth.
Currently, Dr. Hartley serves on the boards of Attorneys for Family-Held Enterprise and a private foundation. She participates in the Psychosocial Dynamics of Family Business (a U.S. national think tank), is a fellow in the Family Firm Institute and holds its Certificate in Family Business Advising, and is a past member of its board of directors.
As a consultant, Dr. Hartley maintains an active speaking schedule. She gives presentations in English and Spanish internationally. In the last several years, she has addressed business family audiences in Spain, Denmark, France, Scotland, Ireland, Malaysia, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Belgium and the United States. Dr. Hartley received a Bachelor of Arts from Grinnell College, a Master of Business Administration from Oregon State University and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Kansas.
Michael T. Hartley
Michael T. Hartley is the chairman and chief executive officer of Dale K. Ehrhart Inc. He frequently works as part of collegial teams that provide sophisticated estate, tax and investment planning, as well as family office services to some of America's wealthiest families. In addition to his executive duties, Mr. Hartley is involved on a day-to-day basis with portfolio design and other forms of sophisticated investment planning. Prior to joining Dale K. Ehrhart in 1985, Mr. Hartley worked as a corporate comptroller and director of finance.
Mr. Hartley is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the National Committee on Planned Giving, The Family Firm Institute, Attorneys for Family Held Enterprises and the Family Business Network, and is actively involved in many civic and charitable organizations in the Venice, Florida area. He was a recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award from the National YMCA Southern Region.
He is coauthor of Master Plan: Integrating Your Financial Planning, Legal and Estate Planning and Life Planning, a book intended to help families manage all three forms of wealth. He is a founding member of the Institute of Philanthropy and worked with the Sudden Money Institute. He is listed in National Register's Who's Who in Executives and Professionals (2001- 2002).
Mr. Hartley's education includes undergraduate degree work at the Indiana University School of Business, the College for Financial Planning, the New York Institute on Family Wealth and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business executive education on investment portfolio design. He holds the Certified Financial Planner and Accredited Asset Management Specialist designations as well as licenses including the Series 7 (General Securities), Series 25 (Securities Principal), Series 28 (Financial Operations Principal), Series 63 (Uniform Securities State Law) and Series 65 (Investment Advisor).
